How to be an explorer of the world

When one of my downstairs neighbours at work left, I found a copy of ‘How to be an explorer of the world‘ by Keri Smith on her bookcase. I’d like to give this book out to plenty of the adults I know and encourage them to look around, play, discover, and invent. As I get older, I realise that what I value most is creativity: the ability to look at a problem from many different angles; to do things that are unexpected; to pursue methods and madness; and to fill voids.

With that in mind, I don’t feel anywhere near as awkward about falling in and out of love with art all the time: even when something is made from nothing, the process isn’t always creative, and I challenge anyone to argue that walking around a gallery, pausing every minute or so to look at something, is an inherently creative activity.
